Welcome to Venice, arguably the most sensuous city in the world…

I love Venice.
For me it’s one of the most enchanting cities in the world, as well as one of the top places to visit in Italy. It’s a uniquely beautiful place that never ceases to mesmerize regardless of the season or time of day. Through its art and architecture, it flaunts its immense wealth, most accumulated by the Venetian Republic so many centuries ago.
It’s a city of beautiful light that envelops its web of canals and seascapes, serving up little Canaletto and Tintoretto canvases almost everywhere you look. Its myriad little streets, some only six feet or so wide, lure you nowhere and everywhere before plunking you into a quiet little campo or piazzetta.

As the author Truman Capote once observed, “Venice is like eating an entire box of chocolate liqueurs in one go.”
I couldn’t agree more…
Still though, no photos of Venice can replicate the sensuality of the city. But they can show you her amazing beauty.

Venice is an intoxicant … it fills your heart, your soul, your dreams, with a magic that no other place in the world can do … I am one of those addicted travelers who find it challenging to go more than a year without visiting her again and again and again. To wander down a quiet calle where the older Venetians greet you in their distinctive dialect is a charm that few discover.
I know exactly what you mean Donna. I’ve been intoxicated by her many times myself!
