Born and raised in Toronto, Bill Warelis was 19 years old (a long time ago), when he flew to London. There he worked for several months in a bar overlooking the Tower Bridge and fell in love with the city. From he was off through England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland. He returned home to enter college with great memories and the travel bug firmly embedded in him.
After completing college, he began a career in corporate and agency marketing communications. He and his wife have lived in New York, London and Wilmington, DE and traveled on every opportunity they found for business and pleasure. They fell in love with Paris, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, Cape Town and other cities where they could walk for miles each day enjoying the architecture, museums, galleries, theater and whatever else the city had to offer.
Of course, he appreciated the natural beauty of the world. This appreciation intensified when he and his wife visited Iguazu Falls from both the Brazil and Argentina sides. This appreciation continued years later in the dense jungle of the Vallée de Mai Nature Preserve on Praslin Island, Seychelles. It was, he still admits, unlike anything he’s seen anywhere. And seeing the Southern Cross while on safari in South Africa completed a dream he’s had since childhood.
Bill Warelis continues to travel for pleasure only and writes about his experiences as often as possible.
